KYC records every delivery and retries it when your endpoint doesn’t accept it. Each retry carries the same event (data), a new meta.attempt number, and a new signature and timestamp.

What each response means

A timeout means no response within 10 seconds.

Retry schedule

A delivery is tried up to 8 times over about 31 hours. Each wait varies by up to 20% either way, so retries from many deliveries don’t all arrive at once. If you send a Retry-After header with a 429 or 5xx, KYC waits at least that long, up to 1 hour.

Auto-disable

KYC disables your endpoint when:
  • it returns 410, or
  • 50 deliveries in a row fail, and the failures span at least 3 days.
A short outage doesn’t disable your endpoint, however many deliveries fail during it. A single success resets the count. While your endpoint is disabled, KYC sends nothing to it, and events from that time are not delivered later. Contact KYC to re-enable it once it’s fixed.

Missed events

If your endpoint was down for longer than the retry schedule, contact KYC. KYC can resend individual deliveries that failed. Events from while your endpoint was disabled were never queued for it, so they can’t be resent.
